Caveman Language ("the App") is operated by eff.today inc ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application.
We believe in transparency. This policy is written to be understood, not to obscure.
What We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address (if you create an account)
- Self-Assessment Data: Your stated familiarity with languages when starting a series
- Learning Progress: Your responses to probes, relay-backs, and ad-libs within the app
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Which series you engage with, time spent, density levels reached
- Adaptation Signals: Aggregated performance indicators (STABLE/WOBBLY/LOST states) used to personalize your learning path
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version (for troubleshooting)
What We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Contacts or address book
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
- Data from other apps on your device
- Advertising identifiers
How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
Data Storage and Security
- Learning progress is stored locally on your device by default
- If you create an account, progress syncs to our secure servers
- Data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3
- Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
- We retain account data until you request deletion
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — request a copy of what we store
- Delete your data — remove your account and all associated data
- Export your data — receive your progress in a portable format
- Opt out of analytics — disable usage tracking in app settings

Third-Party Services
We use minimal third-party services:

Children's Privacy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be communicated through:
- In-app notification
- Email (if you have an account)
- Updated "Last Updated" date above
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
